It has been four months since our wedding and it still seems like yesterday. We were trying to make the day a fabulous, elegant, and unforgettable affair for us as well as all of our family and friends. We spent the better part of a year preparing and planning trying to do it all ourselves. In this economy we are like most couples out there working with a modest budget. We had been to so many bridal shows that sold the dream, but that dream was out of our reach, but just enough to give us great ideas. We both worked to give all of the decorations we made that personal touch. The big day was upon us and we realized we needed PROFESSIONAL HELP. My husband was very gracious and decided to surprise me with a “day of event coordinator”. We were very fortunate to find DeShonna, a very gracious, professional, patient, and straight to the point person. She met us at our home, I drove her crazy showing her all of the decorations that we had made as well as all of those great ideas locked up in my mind ready for the big day. I specifically told DeShonna how hard we have worked to make my day unforgettable. I had put my heart into each piece and in every detail, but was not going to be able to create the room as I had dreamed. I explained what I had pictured in my mind what the day would look like and she took those ideas and ran with them, DeShonna and her team arrived the night before to do a final review and then showed up first thing in the morning the day of to start decorating. She was constantly sending me pictures of the progress. She made some last minute decisions that were not what I wanted, but those decisions were right on and perfect to say the least. The first time I was able to see the room completed was 20 minutes before the ceremony and it just took by breath away as well as a few tears as DeShonna and her team transferred a plain reception hall to the visions that I had dancing in my head all those months. My mother in law has received so many compliments on the decorations and stated that St. Paul’s Episcopal Church has never looked better.

When I first started wedding planning I was almost certain that I could handle the feat myself. It was not until I hired Holland & Associates that I realized that my thinking was borderline insane. Ms. DeShonna was AWESOME!!! All of the details that I neglected to see, she was indeed a second set of eyes. What I liked best was that if I was feeling panicky about any detail, which was typically the minute that I had overlooked, she would quickly assure me that we were fine. I am certainly glad that I trusted her too!!! Despite all of the inevitable frustrations that come along with wedding planning, Ms. DeShonna definitely had May 21st run as smooth as butter!!!
